Blue's Slide Serration Design + EA Custom Slide Cover

Post by blueorison » 07 Dec 2012, 23:06

Yeap.

More pew pews.

Some silly person is annotating my video.

Did this a while ago, but didn't post it. Have been testing it out. Works 100%. It adds grit exactly like grip tape. But permanent. Speed, laser output is user controlled. As is design. I spent about an hour prototyping on my old slide cover. After the proof of concept was pewpew'd out, I decided to go muzzle-deep.

I was going to put the EA Logo on there, but I decided to save it for the next slide cover.

Hope you guys like.

As always, more pewpews, less worrying about the lighting in your millionth gun picture. With the stupid gun with the stupid rail.

Pretty sure my next EA Custom laser engraved slide cover will be EA themed, featuring a certain someone, a mustang, and not many articles of clothing.

And now, I will run really fast, in the opposite direction.

LOL I am waiting on sample right now. The shop that does the laser engraving on our night sights, shell plates, go/no go gauge etc. just upgraded their laser and it playing around with an old cover.

Although I said it tongue in cheek to begin with, they do have a 'plastics paint' from Krylon that is made specifically FOR plastics. I remember using it on my PS90 mags WAY back in the day. I painted all of it except for a small strip down the middle so I could still 'see' how many rounds were in it.
Although it's been a while, and I don't recall how many colors may be available (I used matte black), I do remember it ended up being a lot more durable than I expected. I put two thin coats on each mag and the only 'wear' was at the end of the mag where it seated on the carbine and I tended to slam them into the weapon. I wore some of the color off on one of the mags.
Now, granted, it wouldn't be as durable as say...Durocoating the slide, but, it would be a LOT cheaper, too.
Just a suggestion.
