Re: bought 5.7 ammo RECENTLY?

When I go shooting at local shop in SC, I always look at ammo prices. Many months ago the FN57 was going for over $50. Yesterday it was selling for $28--heck the AE was selling for $24--all available.

Re: American Eagle 40gr 5.7x28mm FMJ :)

Regardless of whether AE is as good as FN, the bottom line for me is that it gives me some measure of affordability at the range, where my aim (no pun intended) is just to maintain discharge/grip memory shooting the 57. AE may not have velocity of FN or may be "watered down", but it still shoots fin...

Re: FN FiveSeven Red dot mount for MKII in stock

Has anyone seen or used the MAKO USM, a universal picatinny rail adapter that effectively uses the lower rail as a base and provides for a top rail that can be used for anything you might want to mount, such as a red dot. It is not expensive (~$70) and now provides a top rail without any permanent i...

Re: Failure to Fire (FTF)?

I am far from an expert but there have been many comments that I have seen concerning reloads. At $50-$60 a box, there is a heck of an incentive for some to reload and sell as factory, using the blue box. If it is too good to be true (ie: a box of 197 for $30 or even a box from a private/public inte...

Re: Took The Plunge - Am I Nuts Given The Ammo Situation?

Why do I remember the threads showing someone's hand seriously damaged due to an exploding 57 and he clearly indicated that reloads were part of his inventory? Why do I remember reading the manual on the 57 that voids any warranty if you use anything other than production ammunition? Why do I think ...

Re: compensator for five seven

Here's my rail mounted compensator.... (compensates for my near sightedness) No compensator needed for recoil since the FsN is quite manageable... http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv207/airdog99/IMAG0977small.jpg http://i684.photobucket.com/albums/vv207/airdog99/IMAG0976small.jpg http://i684.phot...

UTG makes a whole line of soft-side ballistic nylon type inexpensive gun cases with inside and outside pockets and specific mag pockets.

I am so thrilled for all you knife "fetishees". Tell me how that works out for you when you reach for your 57 and then you remember you sold it. C'mon--there have to be better threads on a 57 forum than this one about knives.

Re: My FNH 5.7 question

My 5.7 is all black. I mean that there are no grey mag release buttons, no grey safetys etc... everything is all black. I have never seen a photo of this yet. Can anyone tell me why? Sounds like a case of reverse "GCD" Gun-Color-Discrimination. I will report this to the Justice department immediate...

Re: Five-Seven Pistol now Military Only?

Personally, I could not care less what this fascist government decides to do. My 57 will remain with me and will be used for my defense should imminent danger poke its head into my business. I have all the ammo I need to continue practicing, albeit at less shots, and enough of the "good stuff" to ma...

Rosie: typically I could care less but have always enjoyed this site and don't want hard feelings. Lol Old motto: "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never harm me". Hard feelings from who exactly? An internet reply on a forum? I really do understand what you mean and I have actual...

Hey "U": Ya gotta be young. Wait til you get old like me---you wear what you want, say what you want to whoever you want, never apologize, and could not care less. I guess civility is nice but in today's America it is a lost art and means very little. Ask the garbage in the whitehouse--knows how to ...

Re: So discourged

I hate to ruffle feathers, but the way I see it, shooting a few rounds every once in a while to make sure you're on target is like driving your car around the block once a week to make sure you're ready for a Formula 1 race. To each his own. I assume that if you had not shot this week and were in a...

Good luck on getting ammo. Be prepared to get into reloading! Warm up the Cheque Book - strive to get fired brass if yo...

Re: So discourged

Ammo prices are high and the complaints are out there from people who are shooting 200 or 300 rounds every week. Duh? I go every other week with 3 friends to favorite gunshop with two mags each loaded with 15 rounds of "blue". We take turns shooting and we usually discharge 5 rounds a turn. If all m...

Just to add another suggestion to the mix---when I first contacted tech services at FN, the tech guy I spoke to, when I mentioned Ballistol, told me that is what he uses on his 57. Look it up.

Re: I was disarmed tonight..

When I saw your comment about the safety it reminded me of something that troubled me until I realized what I had done. I have magnets in a hidden readily available location that I will use to put my 57 if I am not CC and will be gone for a period of time. The 57 sits in a vertical position with bar...
