Re: Makes ma laugh, and want to cry. But now I have a quest

Surprisingly easy! I only had to take a few minutes to narrow a 15mm wrench. Only had to remember "Right to loosen" :) I may use a chop saw to cut the head off that wrench, turning it into a sleeve with octogon edges so a large socket can fit over it. Then, torquing it down should be a cinch! https:...

Re: Makes ma laugh, and want to cry. But now I have a quest

I don't think it'll be too tough. The work was originally done by TROS, where he cut and crown the original barrel, and then used their adaptor/barrel nut.

I'll try to remove it for s& g real quick, although I don't have any wrenches narrowed yet...

Re: Makes ma laugh, and want to cry. But now I have a quest

Thanks and Thanks! The loss is not that big of a deal. It was a good lesson learned. Folks that know me would understand how shocking it was for me to be a bit careless like that. I have always felt I have a mild case of OCD. LOL My friend blamed it on the use of a new item which was a variance from...

Makes ma laugh, and want to cry. But now I have a question.

Hi All! So I have not exactly been active here, or any form in a while, but I figured I would share a little story for a laugh. Perhaps. Then, I have a general question, because I am too lazy to search :P First, the comedy, or horror. Pick your reaction: eXAqoFCkzpk I think the annotations in the vi...

Re: Seeking input for 45-70 Govt for an old trapdoor

Again, thanks for the input! Loading the rounds up right now. I decided to go with: CCI 200 Large Rifle Primers Somewhat old, but virgin Remington brass inspected and trimmed to 2.095" 32 grains of H4198 Remington 405 grain JSP OAL of 2.545" with a slight crimp The Hornady customm dies are working o...

Re: Seeking input for 45-70 Govt for an old trapdoor

Thanks for the input. While I was out today I picked up some IMR 4064 as a backup, but I am still prepping the brass. I will see if I can score some H4198 tomorrow, and as a backup, are there any concerns with IMR-4198? Starting load in the Lyman Reloading Handbook (49th Ed.) is 31.5 (which was the ...

Seeking input for 45-70 Govt for an old trapdoor

Hi All, It has been a rather long time since I have been over here, I hope all is well with folks. I am loading up about 110 rounds of 45-70 Govt for a Springfield Trapdoor, and I was curious to get some input on the safety of the load (which I believe should be rather mild). What I am working with:...

WTT: HK USP 45 Compact w/ Novak Sights for FiveseveN

Hi all, Hope everyone is well. I have been wanting to snag a FiveseveN for a while, but I have been spending the cash on other things. I have an HK USP .45 Compact with Novak Night Sights installed. I have the original Ghost Ring night sights I will send along as well (I was always nutting the targe...

I'd be happy to issue you a "real" certificate. Although, you would receive the same whining message upon visiting the forum by your browser, it would be more cryptographically secure :) (but would only work with Firefox, or IE on Windows 7 and Server 2008R2... minor details) I.e., see: http://keysu...

Re: FNAR handloading

Interesting. I had 14 165 gr GameKings laying in a box, so I loaded them up at 2.805 OAL with 43 gr Varget in Remington brass with CCI 200 primers. Hopefully I can get out to the range tomorrow... EDIT: Also, my FNAR is slightly different with adjustments to the gas system due to having a little wor...

Re: Ok folks, I need some help with subsonics

I had some luck with 2.7 grain of Power Pistol with the Hornady 55 grain spire point projectile and CCI-400 primer. The spire points have a flat base and short length. With a longer/max OAL, it seems like a perfect combination for the 10" bbl. FS-pGh-Eu8o I have also used HS6 and True Blue, but the ...
